NZEBC at Fieldays 2026

From 10 to 13 June, Mystery Creek hosted the 58th Fieldays. With over 1,100 exhibitors and around 130,000 attendees, Fieldays remains the largest agricultural event in the Southern Hemisphere.

Focusing on connecting local agricultural exporters with the European market, the NZEBC co-hosted a joint European Networking Event and worked alongside the European Union Delegation to New Zealand to help build connections and further develop trade between Europe and New Zealand.

NZEBC President Peter Kiely was impressed by the scale of the event. During his visit, he toured the German and Irish Pavilions and enjoyed the “Taste of Europe” display by the European Union Delegation to New Zealand. He attended a luncheon hosted by EU Ambassador Lawrence Meredith and was excited to hear from Minister of Trade Todd McClay, who highlighted the exceptional success of the NZ-EU Free Trade Agreement.

Fieldays is one of the highlights, receiving increasing attention from organisations from Europe interested in the Pacific region’s food and agriculture. The fair stands and events were attended by diplomats of Europe in NZ, helping to build interest and engagement. One example in this year was a visit of 20 businesses and the Wielkopolska region officials from Poland.

The NZEBC would like to extend a huge thank you to Vice President Martijn Bakker for his extraordinary work both before and during Fieldays. Martijn and members of the Committee did a fantastic job representing the NZEBC throughout the four-day event.
